September has already seen parts of the world devastated by hurricanes, earthquakes and more disasters. Communicating with your loved ones can be an impossible task during times like these, so Facebook is here to make it easier to get in touch with friends and family.
Facebook yesterday announced the creation of Crisis Response, a new centre on the platform that includes all information about the latest crises – natural disasters, attacks, etc. Crisis Response will combine three of its autonomous tools already found on the platform: Safety Check, Community Help and Fundraisers, along with useful links and articles.
This means that users who visit Crisis Response online, will get to see which of their friends are marked as safe, along with helpful links and articles, updates, posts, and videos, from community members, along with links to fundraising and relief efforts. Moreover, there will be posts from community members asking for, or offering help, to communities affected by the disaster.
